The SGX1A speed limiter is a machine room speed limiter. The elevator speed limiter is a device that controls the speed of the car (counterweight), which needs to work in conjunction with the safety gear.

The SGX1A speed limiter is a centrifugal block type speed limiter. When the car is running, the speed limiter wheel is driven to rotate by the speed limiter wire rope. Once the downward speed of the car exceeds 115% of the rated speed, the speed limiter will turn on The electrical switch of the elevator will act first to cut off the safety circuit of the elevator, and the speed limiter will continue to run under the action of inertia, resulting in mechanical action, clamping the wire rope of the speed limiter, pulling the safety gear to clamp the guide rail, and making the car stop on the guide rail.
